WELCOME TO STA NEXT_GEN

We're Now, We're Next

STA Next Gen is a black-owned youth NGO that seeks to empower youths with skills and tools they can use to understand and manage the complex and messy situations they face.

South Africa has a youth population of 20.6 million, making up 35.7% of the country's total population. Although a youthful population holds promise for development, South Africa’s youth is plagued by a myriad of challenges. Self-doubt, lack of self-awareness and pressure are amongst the top challenges young people are faced with. Failure to overcome these may stump their development and growth as individuals and young leaders.

Whilst there are many programs responding to the challenges facing young people in the country, only a few look at one of the most fundamental aspects - transforming their thinking process. These programs also tend to use traditional, mechanistic thinking processes yet the challenges that young people face are complex. Dealing with such issues in a linear way has been proven to not work and often makes the situation worse.

Using systems thinking tools and approaches, we facilitate processes that empower young people better understand and grapple with the challenges they face. Our processes are intended to transform the thinking process of young people so they can tap into the vast resources in and around them and therefore improve their quality of life by nurturing and growing their life and leadership skills.
